"Trauma Informed" training and experience

Linking all her work to neurological research equips Dr. Shannon to both understand and educate her clients about trauma formations and reactions. Her tools and healing strategies are rooted in imagery and the body, both central in the triggers and experience of trauma; image and body cues also help lead to healing and resilience in transforming trauma. Allowing the individual to ‘repicture’ and ‘reimagine’ their trauma stories. Bringing this new information into the body and somatic experience creates a base for new, embodied knowing and empowerment.

Shannon has both presented for the TICN and written blogs for this organization. She is rooted in the understanding that there are traumas in the course of daily living. That our families, educational institutions, religious organizations, politics, communities and places of employment can all be sources of extreme and subtle trauma.

"Trauma Trained" training and experience

In addition to her Ph.D. in Imaginal Psychology and Creative Arts Therapy, she is trained in Thought Field Therapy, Psych-K and various body based and image based healing modalities that support the understanding, healing and resolution of trauma.

Tools to calm the autonomic nervous system and vestibular system are among the body based strategies that Dr. Shannon employs to support clients in feeling better.
